As Garrick and Timothy discussed the various versions of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" while listening to Jimi Hendrix's cover, they realized that there was no podcast that brought together faith, reason, and rock and roll. Thus, Three Chords and the Truth: The Apologetics Podcast was born in 2018.
In 2021, this podcast evolved into The Apologetics Podcast while still retaining music episodes under the title Three Chords and the Truth. The name "Three Chords and the Truth" pays homage to the simplicity and clarity found in country music. Harlan Howard famously said that a country song is "nothing more than three chords and the truth." This phrase encapsulates the hosts' desire to convey deep theological truths in a way that resonates with real people's lives.
