Now, they are seeking $75,000 to further their mission and ensure their long-lasting impact on the culture of Black art. Despite launching during the challenging times of COVID-19, BLAC has proven its commitment to redistributing artistic knowledge outside of the universal lens. They have successfully served the community through virtual readings, book giveaways featuring works by Black authors, free poetry workshops with renowned poet Morgan Parker, virtual workshops, and the publication of their first zine showcasing diverse art forms. BLAC's team comprises playwrights, poets, fiction writers, actors, designers, and artists from various disciplines, allowing them to offer a wide range of art practices and experiences to a community of Black artists who may not have had access to such opportunities before.
