Eleni Elefterias

Eleni Elefterias is an incredibly talented and passionate creator who has been writing songs since she was just 10 years old. Her musical journey began with the teachings of the Sisters of Mercy, who introduced her to the beautiful works of Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. With her determination and love for music, Eleni learned to play guitar and piano, even practicing on a drawn keyboard when she didn't have access to one. At the age of 14, her perspective on Greek music changed completely when she attended a concert by exiled composer Mikis Theodorakis. This experience opened her eyes to the depth and soulfulness of Greek ballads, social consciousness songs, and heartfelt melodies. Eleni's passion for Greek music led her to study singing at the Conservatorium of Music, where she received scholarships but ultimately followed her heart towards Greek ballad style rather than classical opera. Throughout her life, Eleni has performed with various politically-driven groups and had the incredible opportunity to tour Germany, Austria, Greece, and Crete alongside Greek composer Thomas Bakalakos. Despite facing challenges and family concerns about pursuing a career in music, Eleni has remained determined to share her heartfelt ballads and songs of yearning with the world. With degrees in Communications, Modern Greek, and Education under her belt, Eleni currently teaches Greek at the University of Sydney while continuing to write beautiful songs that have yet to be heard by the masses. She dreams of recording and producing her songs for all to enjoy on platforms like YouTube, but financial constraints have hindered this dream from becoming a reality. In order to finally bring her creations to light and have more time dedicated to them, Eleni humbly asks for support from generous patrons like yourself.
